Prepare to scare!

Prepare to scare!

Halloween is creeping up on us, so now is the time to get your home ready to welcome in the spookiest time of the year.

Keep frights in sight

Your Ring Video Doorbell and Security Cameras will let you watch out for wandering witches and ghoulish guests. If you’ve linked them with your Ring Alarm system, then you’ll be keeping everything in sight when things go bump in the night. But did you know that your Ring devices have extra tricks (and treats) up their sleeve to help you prepare to scare this Halloween?

Mischievous messages

This Halloween, welcome your visitors with a ghostly greeting. The Quick Replies1 feature acts like an answering machine for your door, playing a message automatically whenever someone presses your Video Doorbell. Along with your favourite Halloween Quick Replies, we’ve added three new suitably scary messages to help you get into the spirit of the season. Whether you choose the cackle of a witch, the howl of a werewolf, or the chatter of trick or treaters, you’ll find a reply that’s sure to surprise.

To set up Quick Replies, you’ll need to open the Ring app and then follow these steps:

  1. Tap the three lines in the top left of your dashboard

  2. Tap Devices

  3. Select your Ring Video Doorbell

  4. Tap the Smart Responses tile

  5. Toggle Quick Replies on

  6. Tap Enable Feature when it appears on the next screen

  7. Tap Quick Reply Message

  8. Choose your favourite Halloween-Themed Quick Reply Message

  9. Tap Save to finish.

It’s as simple as that. It’s just as simple to change your chosen message and deactivate the Quick Replies feature whenever you need to. With your chosen Quick Reply activated, you’re prepared to scare this Halloween!

“Fire burn, cauldron bubble, leave your message on the double.“

“Trick or treat, smell our feet, leave a message at the beep.“

“(Howl) Be Right There!”

“Just a minute! Feel free to park your broom.“

"I’ll be right there to eat...I mean greet you."

"Tell us what brings you here...or we’ll put a spell on you."

"You’ve just awoken the spirits that haunt this house! Hurry and leave a message...before it’s too late. [deep booming laugh]"

Startling sounds

For some extra frightful fun once Halloween has begun, we’ve got some terrifying Chime tones and Ring app alerts. From a haunting howl, to a creepy creaking door and much more, you can bring the supernatural season inside your home with Ring.

[Dracula Theme] I’ll be right there to eat...I mean greet you.

[Witch]Tell us what brings you here...or we’ll put a spell on you

[Creepy Butler voice] You’ve just awoken the spirits that haunt this house! Hurry and leave a message...before it’s too late. (deep booming laugh)

To activate these seasonal tones, all you have to do is navigate to the Devices section in the Ring app - just like you did for Quick Replies. Next, select your Chime or Chime Pro, tap Audio Settings and then tap Chime Tones. You will now be able to search through the list of tones until you find your favourite seasonal sound. Make your selection, tap Save Changes and you’re ready to go. Once activated, you’ll hear your chosen tone around your home and on your phone whenever someone presses your Video Doorbell.

This Halloween, keep trick or treaters on their toes with our selection of fantastically frightening features.

Sounds, all year round

Did you know that there are more Quick Replies and Chime Tones in the Ring app? There are lots of standard Quick Replies and Chime Tones to choose from and you can switch them up whenever you feel like a change. When the holiday season comes around, we’ll add seasonal Quick Replies and Chime Tones for some extra festive fun.
